Flu season is upon us

It's official. The bug has hit our shores. This is hardly surprising given the current gloomy weather and the amount of rainfall that we have been getting in the last month. Hubby caught it 2 weeks ago and has yet to recover. He's on his 3rd course of antibiotics and is still coughing green phlegm. *sigh* Told him to see the doctor when he caught it - my exact words to him were to "nip it in the butt" - but no sirree, he refused to, he cleverly thought that he could cure himself through self medication and happily went off to attend the management conference in Phuket. Obviously the medication didn't work and he didn't rest as one should when ill. Instead, he played football and ate God knows what in Phuket and promptly came home with laryngitis!

With the baby around, I was adamant that he goes to see the doctor and get whatever medication that was necessary to get the bacteria or virus out of his system. I have to admit it. I hate getting sick and being around sick people especially now when I'm caring for a 3 month old at home. I'm doing all that is necessary to keep the dreaded germs away from Jeremy and myself even though I know it is not full proof but it does pays to be extra vigilant during this period.
What I have done so far:-
a) Made sure that I wash my hands as often as I could before I touch him
b)Disinfect the entire house with my Dettol Disinfectant Spray daily,
c) Keep the baby at a safe distance from hubby
d) Remind hubby to wash his hands as often as possible and to cough into a hanky, and
e) Take my vitamin C and other vitamins within the recommended dosage every single day.

You may say that I'm a germophibic or a hypochondriac but I'm pretty much a basket case when it comes to illnesses ever since I had Jeremy.

And it doesn't just end there. Everyone at the office seemed to be either having a flu or a sore throat and nobody bothers to take medical leave on account that they can still pretty much go about their daily lives. I try to wash my hands as often as I can while in the office as this is the only type of hygiene that I can practice daily when out in the public. A slight cough from my colleague and off I go to the washroom - I know... I'm getting a little wee bit paranoid about this!

The worst thing about the flu season is that there is nothing to do but to wait things out. I just wish things were back to normal and everyone is healthy!

Update:- Since Jeremy had to be isolated from Daddy, I took the opportunity to capture some shots of him in our bedroom.
