I finally got my Maclaren Volo

Yes, I finally got the Mercedes of strollers from Mothercare and needless to say it was RM100 more expensive than the price offered by First Few Years. I would have liked to have bought it from First Few Years but they only had the powder pink and crimson strollers which are kinda girly for Jeremy. I opted instead for Mothercare as they had the carbon stroller. The colour choices in Malaysia are rather limited - they don't have the turqoise, flame orange or white strollers.

At RM499, it doesn't come with the sun parasol (brolly) or the Volo Accessory Pack.
I must say that the aluminium stroller is pretty lightweight at 4.2kg and it has a carry strap which makes it easy for us to lug it around when we are overseas. We are planning some trips abroad next year so the stroller would definitely come in handy but does anybody know whether MH/MAS allows us to gate check the stroller so that it is available to us once we are off the plane? I was told that all international airlines including MAS allow this for passengers with infants. Or do they insist that this be checked in with the rest of the luggages which is not practical as one can't expect a small child/toddler to walk to the terminal gate which can be quite a distance. If it is the latter, then I would need to look out for the Volo Accesory bag which we would need to zip the stroller in before we check it in together with the rest of our luggages.

The trip to Singapore would be a great way to find whether the stroller is as good as it looks. *lol*

I'm planning to get the exact one too =) What did you do with your current one? I have a Graco Citisport which he has outgrown and debating between keeping/selling it. It's a great stroller.

Yeah, MH/Sri Lankan/Emirates allow you to leave the stroller at the gate just before you board and you'll find it again outside when you disembark.

Jeremy's mummy: Well - IT IS a Maclaren and not a Anakku stroller, if you know what I mean. Having tried it out it is definitely worth buying.

Kittycat: I think my Graco travel system will still be used on the weekends but the Volo is reserved for outstation and trips abroad. The new stroller is godsend! It's so light and easy to fold. Hardly took up any bootspace in the car. *lol*. Brain was really impressed by the new stroller.

When we went to Perth last year, SIA allowed us to gate check Irfan's stroller from KL-SG. When we arrived in Perth however, we didn't have the stroller outside the plane waiting for us as we were told to pick it up at the baggage carousel. But the good part was, Qantas provided some strollers for us parents. Although Irfan didn't look too comfy in it, it sure was better than to carry him around the airport! Haha!

But yeah, MAS allows you to gate check the stroller. :)

Frankensteina: Did take loads of pictures and the stroller was extremely useful so much so that Brain has decided to chuck the old one into the storeroom. *lol*

Nadia: I can't believe that SIA did not have the stroller ready during the disembarkment. Or is an Aussie airport requirement? Cos we are thinking of taking the newly launched SIA Airbus 380 to Melbourne and Sydney next year (it current fare is SGD1,300 per pax)
