Anyway, I decided to reward myself and spend more quality time with Brain and Jeremy by booking ourselves in the Cameron Highlands Resort (CHR) for a 3 day 2 nite stay inclusive of all meals! As some of you maybe aware, the CHR used to be the Merlin Inn before YTL acquired it in 2005 , refurbished the entire place before it reopened in April 2006. Having been to Tanjong Jara Resort, I must say that this is truly a lovely resort which overlooks the public golf course and breathtaking hills. We had a really relaxing time here and the staff went out of their way to make Jeremy as confortable as possible during meal times.
We arrived on 1 May 2007... traffic along the Simpang Pulai route was horendous... we were practically inching our way up to Brinchang once we passed Kg Raja. Jeremy fretted constantly in the car seat and was getting very impatient after a 3 hour car ride from KL. Since we were practically moving at snail pace, I took him out of his seat and let him stand for awhile on my lap! By the time we reached the hotel, we were just dying to get to our room and freshen up! Btw, Cameron Highlands isn't like what it used to be... especially the weather! By our standards, it was so much warmer now compared to 6 years ago.
We checked into our Deluxe room, unpacked and fed Jeremy some bread before we lull him to sleep on the kingsize canopy poster bed.
I started cooking his porridge and then took a bath before settling down to check the scenery on the patio outside our room.
After about 1 1/2 hours, Master Jeremy work up from his much needed afternoon nap. Gave him a sponge bath before feeding him. After that bundled him in his HK DisneyLand pyjamas before we head down for dinner at the only Japanese Restaurant in the Resort as well as in Cameron Highlands. Ours was a set dinner under the all inclusive meal package that I signed up for. We had loads of Sashimi, Tempura, Ice-cream and sukiyaki. The restaurant is situated on a verandah facing the slopes of the hills. A short cool breeze comes in now and then as we savoured the food. Jeremy had a fun time clambering over the large bolsters and cushions, waving at the restaurant patrons and wasn't able to sit still until we asked for a highchair.

We strolled around the resort, checked out the Jim Thompson boutique and wound up in the reading room which has a real fireplace and wireless internet access.
We had an early night and was well settled in our room at around 9pm. Jeremy played with his toys for a little while Brain was trying to channel surf - they have a lot of channels which are not even on Astro! i.e Voice of America, MTV China etc....
The routine was pretty much the same the following day but we had our dinner and breakfast at the dining room. We took our lunch at the Jim Thompsom Tea Room.

oh that's really really nice. Will have to wait until next month before hubby has more time and we can schedule some long awaited short breaks!
Jeremy looks as though he is wearing a mini kimono at Gonbei restaurant !!

how mcuh u paid in total ar?
we're planning for a short break also... :D
Milkmaid: Yeah it was a nice break but loads of preparation cos had to bring a lot things for Jeremy. That is the pyjamas I bought from Hong Kong Disneyland, the reason why it looks like a Kimono is becos it is kinda big for him ( although sizewise - it is for a 9 month old baby as stated on the washlabel)
Shannon: It's really nice hotel and we spend a lot of our time here although we did go round to the Boh Plantations Tea Centre which had a fabulous viewing deck. Price wise it was RM699 per pax for a 3 day 2 nite stay inclusive of all meals (6 meals per person)
hey, can tell me where u sign up for it ar? i also want... :D
Shannon: you can e-mail them at travelcentre@ytlhotels.com.my with your request of their package and they will ask you to fill up a form confirming your credit card details and stuff, you can then e-mail/fax it back to them.
