Sunday afternoon at Gymboree

Jeremy started his first Gymboree class yesterday and I have discovered that unless you are physically fit, the activities will tire you out more than your child. Although the duration of the class is only 45 minutes, I (not Jeremy) was already panting after 10 minutes. There were sing alongs and other activities which encourages balance and coordination on their playscapes. Also the session provides an opportunity for your child to interact with his/her peers. Being the newest kid on the block, Jeremy was at first reluctant to participate in any of their activities and started clambering onto me. He refuse to let go and the instructor told me to play with him with the toys and assist him on the slides and ramp. He soon warmed up but was reluctant to join the other children in the activities - he would either push the other kids away or grab their coloured balls to play. I must say that some of kids (some who are much younger than him) were very confident and enjoyed going through the activities with the instructor. And of course there were some howlers too *lol*. Thank god Jeremy didn't wail and yell . In the end, he kinda got the hang of being there and enjoyed the parachute and the bubble blowing activity as well as the sing-along. As for me, although it was tiring, I found the session enjoyable since it's a great way for Jeremy and me to bond together through the sing-alongs and activities. He is currently enrolled for Level 3 classes (for 10 to 16 month olds) which runs for 12 weeks.

I didn't get any shots of him at the class cos I wasn't sure whether it would be permitted. When I enrolled him, they gave me a goodie bag which includes a free pass for one class. I'm giving this to Milkmaid for her to try it out.

etcetera~mommy: Yeah cos it is the nearest to my home. I live like 10 mins away from the centre. The classes on Saturday and Sundays are quite full and they have 5 classes each week for each level. I think we had like 12 babies in our class.

milkmaid: No expiry to the free pass and you need not accompany us. If you would like, I can mail it to you with the class schedules. You can mail me your address at gemstar1974@yahoo.com
