Singapore - Day 2 : Friends and Family

Jeremy woke up at 9.30am, had his milk and bath before we went off to meet a friend in Holland Village. Brain went off to Vivo City to meet an old schoolmate. My friend from Uni whom I haven't seen in years brought along her adorable 2.5 year old daughter, Natasha. We hung out at Coffee Bean and ordered some pasta and sandwiches. The 2 toddlers couldn't interact much due to the age difference and largely also because of the gap in the speech & communication development. Jeremy is at a stage where his receptive speech/language ( the ability to understand) is far better then his expressive language. Whereas, Natasha is a walking and talking toddler. She is at a stage where she can not only understand but also articulate herself verbally. Jeremy wanted to stand/cruise badly so I placed him on a chair near a countertop while I sat beside him and held his waist. It didn't stop him wriggling around. He wanted to touch everything. I was trying to distract him the whole time while chatting with my friend. We had a lot to catch up. At one point, he tried to balance himself by holding onto my glass of English Breakfast Latte! It toppled and spilt all over the table and floor. The incident upsetted Natasha who starting crying really loudly while my friend hurriedly went to get some serviettes to clean up the mess. Everybody in the cafe were giving us nasty looks. I gave Jeremy a rather stern look but he just sat there quietly without any fear of being chastised. We decided to leave the place and went over to my friend's apartment located on Hinde Hede Road. We hung out at Natasha's room which had loads of toys. Jeremy was just entranced by the number of toys she had. Because they couldn't really relate to each other, they played with the toys separately. We decided to call it a day at 12.30 as Jeremy was getting sleepy. Brain picked us up and we headed back to the hotel so that Jeremy can have his nap. It was a rather short nap - 45 minutes tops. I expected him to sleep longer but he was up and ready for more action and adventure. I fed him his lunch, took him to his potty to do his bowel business and we went out later for coffee. We met up with Jeremy's uncle (my brother-in-law) and his fiancee and went to the Marina Village at 1 Degree Fifteen at Sentosa Cove. That's where his uncle will be holding his wedding reception January next year. Walked around for a bit, had another drink and showed Jeremy the yachts and boats moored on the floating walkways. After that, we went back to his uncle's wine shop to stock up on some bottles of white wines.

At this point, since Jeremy had only a 45 mins midday nap, we decided to bring him back to the hotel for his 2nd afternoon nap which was way overdue. He decided that he didn't need the nap and was unresponsive to our usual cajoling. I fed him his evening meal and then we all went out for our annivesary dinner at Prego. He was very well-behaved - which is Not suprisingly, considering that he did not have his afternoon nap and of course was probably rather tired by then. He seemed content to play with his matchbox cars which I brought along and didn't fuss for anything except for the freshly baked bread which the restaurant served on our table. After dinner, we headed back to our car and as soon as we put him in the carseat, he dropped off to sleep in zzzland. We took a spin around the city for awhile and then headed back to the hotel for some much needed rest after a day out.
