Travel log - Sydney from the male perspective

Its hardly surprising that this year's family trip is Sydney since now that we have Master Jeremy tagging along for the first time. Sydney seems to be the ideal choice as its a familiar to us and its easy to get supplies for the baby boy should need arises.

All my kawan-kawan warned me about the 'experience' I am going to get in a 7 1/2 hr flight with a 2 year old toddler. Fortunately, the worry did not materialise as Jeremy seemed to take both flights by its strides and enjoyed himself throughout ! A picture as testimony!

On Jeremy's experience in Sydney, I shall leave it to Pinky to fill the gaps later on.

In any case, I have put some nice pics here on places we have gone which I felt were nice and suitable for young families; and I have picked say top 5 places as a starting point:

No, the above may be the Harbour Bridge but the topic at hand is actually the ferry trip to Manly from Circular Quay (We took the picture from the ferry). The 20 minute ride was indeed an experience as it allowed one to have a good view around the Sydney Harbour enjoying the un-polluted waters and fresh cool breezes which more often than not are things we do not really get to enjoy in Malaysia and many parts of Asia.

OK OK again I am not referring to the Great Barrier Reef, the pic was taken from Darling Harbour Aquarium. Aquariums are always a smash for little ones as they get exposed to variety of fishes in many type of colours. However, I must say our aquariums in Langkawi and KLCC are quite comparable too.

The above is a view of the Opera House in the evening. A dinner at Circular Quay can complement the spectacular evening view of the waterfront and landmarks like Opera House and Harbour Bridge, although the food at Rockpool at the Rocks (which we went a few days later) was so much better than the one we had at the Quay.

A scenic road trip down the South Coast exposed us to many pleasant coast scenaries. The pictures were taken at Flagstaff Point Lighthouse near Wollongong. We actually spent the whole day exploring the South Side coastal roads near Sydney and the trip was indeed worthwhile as one gets to see more of Australia rather than just restricted to chic bars, crowded beaches and shopping.

The two pictures above were taken from the Hunter Valley Garden, which consists a variety of specially designed gardens. These magnificent gardens are set in the Hunter Valley wine regions’ historic district of Pokolbin, amongst the foothills of the Brokenback Ranges, NSW. Over the years it has become one of Australia’s best tourist attractions. The interesting one is actually the Story Book Garden, where the garden is designed around fairy tale stories, and nursery rhyme characters are strategically placed around the garden which will excite many young ones.
