Jeremy's initiation ceremony to be Kwan Yin's (Goddess of Mercy) Godchild

Jeremy's initiation ceremony took place on Saturday, 9 September 2006 (9/9/06). He turned 88 days old that Saturday. Note the lucky numbers - 8 and 9! Why did he have to go through with this, you may ask? My answer is ask the Geomancer who selected his name! Apparently his adoption by Kwan Yin is to ensure that he will have a smoother journey through life to overcome all the trials and tribulations in growing up ( don't we all have to go through this!). I guess life is a bumpy ride and probably bumpier for some like my son. We went to the Kwan Yin temple in PJ and did all that is necessary. He was pretty calm throughout the ceremony but was fretful at the end of it because the temple was pretty warm. After that, we took him to the famed Thai Buddhist temple in Section 5 PJ, Wat Chetawan where one of monks chanted and blessed our family including my parents who were there. The monk took a liking to Jeremy and cuddled him for a while. It was surprising to note that Jeremy did not cry at all while being held by a stranger! Too bad we didn't take any pictures on that day.

My Raelynne also became Kwan Yin's Godchild! She was initiated on her full moon day. In fact, Raelynne had not such a smooth since 15 weeks. We found out that she may have "spina bifida occulta" but after triple checking with an expert in Gleneagles Ampang, she was given an all clear. we had to fly to KL to do this and big damage to the pocket but very glad she was okay. Then she was 1 month earlier than her due date. My parents, who went to China on a tour, went to this "Bu Tau San" (Buddha Mountain) and prayed to Kwan Yin there asking for protection for her. Our family chinese God also knew about all this and I have quietly asked for assistance 3 times.

We were given assurance by Him through our cousin who is a medium that Raelynne will be fine and asked us not to worry, then suggested (or more or less instructed) to make her Kwan Yin's Godchild which we immediately agreed.

So far, Raelynne is doing fine. I have a sense that despite the difficulty, she's going to be a genius. She's already wanting to talk before she turn 3 months old.

It must have been quite a scare for your wife and yourself, but thank goodness everything is okay now with her - that's the most important thing - so Long as a child is normal and healthy everything else doesn't matter.

Jeremy can't go abroad or learn how to swim before 7 years and 8 months according to the Geomancer - it's gonna be quite tough for us especially since we travel alot as a family. Besides that we have to take him to the temple to pray to Kwan Yin on each of her birthdays - I heard there are 3 in a year.
